Yeah, the VP slot will be strategically filled to gain swing states -- nothing more. So even the best candidate policy-wise would be passed up for someone who can deliver a couple of swing states.

If Florida is in play, Rubio is obviously the VP candidate pick.

Although, right now I don't think FL is in play. It's solidly a GOP-leaning state regardless of the nominee right now (that's why Rubio is even in office). There is a lot of time before the general election, though, and things could certainly change.

Seems like Paul is being put up to settle the scores of some of the other Republicans who are upset with Perry... I'm sure he's happy to do so, also.

I'm guessing there would be some bad blood after all this is over, so a Paul VP spot would never happen.

One Texan will be left standing, it looks like... who will it be??

Would never happen.
Paul is an honest man who does not support this crooks agenda.

From the debate tonight, I would say that Ron Paul really, really dislikes Perry. And after tonight, I think Perry would put anyone on his ticket before Ron Paul.

Rick Perry looked like a complete moron tonight.

Half the time he dodged the question asked. Typical pandering from a professional politician.

My favorite part was when Romney slammed Perry for claiming he created the pro-growth job environment in Texas. He didn't and everyone in Texas knows it. I'm from Texas and everyone I talk to agrees that Perry has done nothing to help create jobs here.

Now if only the rest of the nation would listen to us here in Texas when we tell you that Rick Perry is just a flip flopping liar.
