Reading through this thread is like watching scavengers turning on each other. If she'd said anything they agreed with, they would've been kissing her butt, and finding some office for her to run for. Truth hurts.
Haha!!! This is so so true!!!!
Just like if W had caught OBL. Brilliant! Courageous!
Oh, yea, the other guy did. He was just a figurehead....! The hypocrisy is pretty darn entertaining, I must admit.
They're not. However, they're also no less relevant to the political scene that Reagan's daughters are.
Unless People Magazine readership counts.
Now days, you never know with Mrs. Reagan.
She is after all, his daughter. She was raised by the man and spent much of her life with him. If you read the article, you would clearly see that she was not at all political in her views of the candidates, she was comparing the humanity on the issues and the difference between her Republican father and the current crop of radical right wingers that consistently invoke her father's name. It was obviously important to her to set the record straight that there is no similarity between them and him.
She also said that the only candidate whose views and demeanor more closely resemble her father's, is not even getting any attention.
Perry did not stay an execution for further evidence thru DNA testing which might have caused the death of an innocent man. Even one such case proves that Perry is a cold and unjust bastard!
Crap like this is why I continue to oppose the death penalty. Capital punishment offers society nothing, except possibly some solace from getting revenge on the offender. The death penalty is not a deterrent, it doesn't bring the victims back, it doesn't reduce crime, it kills innocent people, and it is prone to manipulation by corrupt political officials. The state should not have the right to take a person's life. Period. That's a real "small government" position.
I cannot fathom RR tolerating an audience that would APPLAUD the vast usage of the death penalty, as if watching lions maul Christians thousands of years ago. I can picture him admonishing them.
momonkey, RR displayed some semblence of compassionate conservatism before the term became corruptly used as a P/R scam.
