Rick Perry, like NJ Gov Christie, is more popular outside his home state. His job approval rating as Governor has hovered in the 40% range, about the same as his disapproval rating. Bush's approval ratings in TX were nearly 60% when he ran for President in 2000. VERY different situation with Perry.

The TX Tea Party isn't all that enamoured with him even if the national Tea Party is.

this is often the case. Many times candidates are more popular outside their state than within. Bush was an exception, as was Clinton in AR and Reagan in Ca. Many voters outside Ohio love kasich but many in the state have mixed feelings.

btw, the amazing about the HPV issue, CDC came out last week and highly recommended all boys, as well as girls get vacinated by the time they are 11 or 12. I haven't seen many address that issue.

We here in Texas are not the least bit surprised that Perry's tripping over his own trousers. We've been acquainted with that clown for years now.

I'm betting that someone in the Perry camp (or a supporter) leaked the info on Cain for just this reason. Perry has the most to gain by doing damage to Cain.

We've had all of our boys vaccinated--I never understood the big stink about the HPV vaccine either.

Problem for Perry is that Texas is a huge state.
