He can't close the deal.

He's not fooling anyone.

Except. Well. You know.

They'll never nominate Romney!

He's a RINO!

The base hates him!

Just like McCain in 2008!

Oh... wait...

Uh huh. That was my point. Despite all the assurances that RINO McCain, hated by the base for opposing the Bush tax cuts and calling Falwell's crowd "agents of intolerance" and equivocating on whether Roe v. Wade should be overturned... he was nominated.

This time, it's Romney, in the same position, the RINO who can't possibly be the nominee... at least, according to the same people who insisted John McCain couldn't possibly win the nomination.

It's fascinating to watch it all play out.

Well, actually, it's not the same, since Obama is a known quantity.

True, Gibbous, as the sole adult at the debate, MR will prevail. THis, w/o him, is the Gilligan's Island field. And yes, JM heard the same stuff MR is. The states that matter are not the openers, and they require money, organization, and above all else, non wacko candidates. That takes out all but MR and Huntsman. Huntsman does not have the org or money.

Uh huh.

Keep telling yourself that.

I'm sure it must be really depressing having to face Romney as the GOP standard-bearer next year...

Have you seen the candidates? I've seen more lucidity on Jersey Shore.
