Like Cuba and North Korea.

Perhaps you have to brush up on your urban slang. For people living outside of the state, like Texas its often referred to as Cali.

LL Cool J Song (no, he was not rapping about going back to South America)

Urban Dictionary: cali slang

3. cali

cali: referring to the great state of california

Santiago de Cali - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre

Actually Santiago de Cali is the name city you are referring to in Columbia. The short slang name often used is Cali.

I predicted when Arizona and other states got into this bash immigrant mode that there would be a price to be paid. They probably won't pay it in this election cycle, but by 2016, the Republicans are looking at some serious payback. I suspect they'll do whatever they can to try to make voting as difficult as possible, but they won't be able to stop it. They've made their bed, and sooner or later, they're going to have to sleep in it.

They are far more likely to vote for Democrats -- any Democrat -- than Republicans. The bash immigrant election strategy might have helped win some elections in 2009 and 2010, but there's going to be hell to pay for it over the next 4-6 years.
This is where Jon Huntsman was such an intriguing candidate.

There was a bipartisan move to offer amnesty. The American people overwhelmingly rejected the idea in no uncertain terms. This sent every politician with any notions of offering amnesty running for cover and recanting like crazy. So we are left in this no man's land of not being able to do anything about the illegal immigrant problem.
A.) There are way too many to round up and deport.
B.) We can't make them citizens because the American people said no.

So the Republicans try to make like they're going to be tough on illegal immigration by offering to build a giant wall, deporting more of those that we find and somehow getting them to self-deport. This approach accomplishes absolutely nothing in terms of the bigger picture.

The Democrats make their own accommodation with the an impossible situation: Just leave them alone. If you happen to catch illegal immigrants from time to time, pretend you didn't and let them go. But the Dems stay in this weird limbo land of opposing amnesty as well. Essentially, "You can stay, but we won't ever make it legal for you to be here."

I think Huntsman was ready to offer up a good solution to this problem. Too bad the GOP ignored him. If Obama wins this year, you can expect to see Huntsman run in 2016 and if he has his way, he might just steal the Democrats thunder by taking the bulk of the Latino vote on this issue. I think Obama has all he can handle getting reelected this year, but that makes for an interesting scenario.

Romney will absolutely win Texas.

Newt might not but Romney will, by a much larger margin than McCain won the state in 2008.

You're crazy if you think otherwise.
