The revolution will not be televised, and society will be better off when it disappears altogether. It is time to stop coddling the screaming children and just say it: Ron Paul supporters are a scourge that could hurt the effort to stop President Obama's relection.
Quote:
Imagine if Ron Paul won the GOP nomination and supporters of all of the other Republican candidates withheld support. The Paulbots would angrily claim that they won the nomination fair and square, and that the vote should be respected, and they would be right.
Yet if Ron Paul does not win, many of his lemmings are threatening to go third party or stay home. The reason for this is simple. Again, they are not Republicans.
Quote:
Ron Paul supporters claim to be conservatives, but their behavior is every bit as aggravating as that of liberals. Anybody who disagrees with Ron Paul is either “uninformed,” or “unsupportive of the Constitution.” The idea that somebody could disagree with them is lost on them. They cannot disagree in a calm manner.

Great article. The GOP should not be held hostage by Ron Paul and the 5% who support him. If you're not on board with defeating Oblama, get the H-E-double hockey sticks OUT.

NOW...Finally, that makes sense.

But don't expect the Paul backers to become 'reasonable,' Suddenly.

The author describes himself as both a "conservative" and a "neocon." Sorry, but those are contradictory ideological outlooks. Traditional conservatism does not and would not approach foreign affairs through the liberal interventionist lens of modern neoconservatism.

This leads me to believe that the author doesn't actually have a consistent ideology, and whatever ideology he maintains certainly cannot be described by the term "conservatism."

If Paul and his supporters hate the GOP so much, then they should do everyone a favor and stop running in the GOP primary.

The truth is, Paul is a solid Republican. His supporters aren't.

Not many people fear Dr. Paul, as you do.

Well, if you have an actual argument about how traditional conservatism and modern neoconservative foreign policy are compatible, I'd love to see it.

I think the GOP should not be held hostage by the people who claim that peace can only be achieved by bombing the hell out of any 3rd world country that doesn't tow the neo-con agenda. Right now, that mindset makes up at least 2/3 of the GOP. The Cold War mentality in the GOP is dying, thank God, and the establishment is concerned they can't keep it up

GOP...return to conservative policies and nominate a decent candidate or end the charade, merge with the Democrats, and create a spot for a party that supports truly conservative beliefs.

That mindset is much more dangerous than any of these so-called "threats" that are out there right now.
