Gingrich, who has been married three times, specifically said he would "uphold the institution of marriage through personal fidelity to my spouse and respect for the marital bonds of others."
Gingrich made the pledge to The Family Leader, a socially conservative group based in Iowa. The organization has its own Marriage Pledge that other 2012 White House hopefuls have signed, including Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
Sorry, my sarcasm knows no limits when it comes to the GOP race being a circus. I still maintain that Jon Hunstman is the best viable candidate the GOP has to offer against Obama.
I guess since the new Mrs Newt is 15 to 20 years younger and Newt is old now he might be able to fulfill that pledge. IMO this pledge is silly and should disqualify anybody seeking the office.
I couldn't help but make an homage to Alanis. Its ironic that the very group of people that they are trying to keep from staining the sanctity of marriage are the group most likely to want to get married. These days the research is overwhelming that homosexual couples are much more inclined to want to tie the knot than their heterosexual counterparts. As a child of a dysfunctional marriage, I can say with a degree of certainty that the staights have been screwing things up for a long time now.
Admit it, Republicans on this forum. You are ****ting your pants over the prospect of Gingrich obtaining the nomination.
