Who says they will not vote third party or just stay at home if they don't think they have a horse in the race. On top of this I am not sure how many progressives, many of whom love FDR, would pull the lever for Paul considering his positions on the New Deal.

Union members and teachers (one and the same) have bankrupted businesses (the U.S. auto industry, for example) and municipalites and states. They're a large reason why the middle class has shrunken. Rather than go belly up under the predations of the unions, businesses have moved oversees killing jobs in this country. Good-paying jobs lost because unions got greedy. Unfortunately states and municipalities don't have the option of going off shore to escape union greed and so they will have to somehow deal with the debt and unfunded liabilites that union bosses and corrupt (mostly Democrat) politicians have saddled them with. Muslims? Presumably Muslims in this country want what all decent Americans want: freedom and opportunity. They won't get that from a Democrat.

Like I said, the empty soda can vs. Obama argument compels me to believe they will not vote Obama. They will know that Paul cannot fundamentally cut 80% off the military budget and cannot shut down everything in one day. That rationalization will guide both the left and right to vote for him.

Newt loves FDR too. Loving FDR means nothing.

Obama's just too much establishment in the eyes of many people. Liberals are smart people, even if their economic ideologies are whacked. They prefer their principles over loyalty. Obama hasn't done anything in their favor economically either by compromising on health care and being a corporate shill.

I thought you had to actually be gay to join the Log Cabin Republicans.

If not, I really think I'd like to become involved with the organization. I, like you, am a Republican who is in favor of gay rights. I would like people like us to have more of a voice within the party and to be considered important to the party.

REALLY? He's had three years...how are those poor and middle class doing now? Soaking up their prosperity?

Oh wait...the unemployment numbers are what again?

People can't find a job, or can only find part time work or have to work multiple jobs because corporations are only hiring part time or "temp" work....

Yah, look how great St. Hope and Change has been for the poor and middle class....they're still poor!

Yeah, well I can't really trust a guy who pushes family values and signs pledges supporting fidelity, and yet is a serial divorcee and adulterer. Call me anti-hypocritical.

My goodness, it's almost like the President has little effect on the economy other than creating administrative rules and signing legislation related to economic activity. You know, like the Graham-Leach-Bailey Act, starting expensive wars, or approving unsustainable tax cuts.

I think the Republicans, who glibly dismiss the numbers and power of the emerging LGBT community and it's allies, are going to be in for a BIG shock in the 2012 elections.
