I sure as hell do not agree with amending the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. That said, we don't know for sure if that's what Romney wants to do. He could just be saying it to pander to his base. While I don't like that politicians do that, they all do it and I think it's smart. I doubt he will be quite as much against same-sex marriage after winning the nomination.

And, it doesn't really matter because even if he really does want a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, he will never get it.

Well we either know for sure its what he wants to do or he is a liar. You pick. Fact of the matter is Romney has become part of the hardcore social right, he is running on that.

santorum is being boosted by the media. they are trying to give him some momentum, just as they have tried with every other candidate except for ron paul and romney. (remember the push for bachmann, perry, cain, gingrich, and even huntsman to some degree-when they just had the debate between gingrich and huntsman). all these polls try and make romney look like he is dropping, and basically they just try and ignore ron paul altogether.

santorum always polls in the bottom-look at the representative polls here. i seriously doubt that iowans are going to pick someone who they know wouldn't have a prayer in the general election.

it's funny how the media covers its rear in the poll, with almost 50% saying that they could change their minds before the vote-which is this tuesday.

remember the iowa straw poll?-interesting read here:

To an extent, yes, but he is still nothing like Perry, Bachmann, or Santorum.

I am socially moderate to moderately liberal and Agnostic. Perry, Bachmann, and Santorum scare the crap out of me because of the religious issues. Ron Paul scares the crap out of me because of his views on foreign policy. 4 more years of Obama scares the crap out of me because of the spending. Huntsman would have been my first choice, but I will be more than happy to vote for Romney.

Well as I said Romney isn't the hell fire and brimstone some of the others are, but he still wants to make his hardcore socially conservative personal religious beliefs law.

You are right, there is a huge difference in Mitt Romney and the other three as far as wearing your religion on your sleeve and letting your religious beliefs dictate overall policy. If you look at Romney's record in Massachusetts, he did not let religion dictate his decisions.

Romney is Massachusetts is not the Romney running now. The Romney is Massachusetts was generally socially moderate. The Romney running now is a hardcore social conservative.

And the Obama that ran for president is not the Obama who became president either.

It's called politics.
