It appears that Romney has won by 14 votes, however the Des Moines Register and AP have taken a few precincts off (though the numbers haven't changed) so its possible some revisions to the numbers could take place (which does happen from time to time) and looks like happened earlier with the numbers from Storry county.

Don't tell me it's another Florida 2000 mess! It'd be just lovely if we don't find out till a month from now.

Fair to say that for all intents and purposes, they both won.

In terms of delegates won, Santorum, Romney and Paul will get the same number of them, so it's a victory for each of these guys, looking at the bigger picture.

There are plenty of Mitt Romney supporters thank you very much! I don't know where the Santorum supporters are. Actually, I don't think I have ever met a Santorum supporter.

Rick Santorum lost his own Senate seat by 17 pts. That right there should tell you all that you should know about him. If his own state doesn't believe in him, why should anyone else?

I personally don't understand why Santorum is getting support either. Was surprised to see that he had so much support in Iowa, but as reported by CNN it was better that Romney won by eight votes than Santorum.

Default Anything significant happen today politically?

I've never been so disinterested in a presidential race than I have with this ridiculous GOP fiasco. Iowa? Who the hell cares? Big man Romney, the most unwanted frontrunner in the history of mankind, hasn't the slightest chance against this great President. This man beat Santorum by 8 votes? This is a "win"? The GOP is a joke and still stinks.

Enjoy President Obama's second term.

Default The Biggest Winner In Iowa Was The Voters

In 2000, George W Bush barely edged out a victory in Florida by only a few hundred votes. After much ranting and raving and general anger, the meaning of that day got lost in the controversy.

But the real winner was the voters. For years leading up to 2000, many people said "my vote won't change anything." You seldom hear people saying that anymore. Since 2000, you've seen several very closely contested state votes.

The caucuses vote in Iowa does a better job of underscoring the same message: Your vote matters, so get off your butt and go vote!
