I doubt Rick Santorium wants to go up against him on the military
you have to be kidding. I don't know what Paul was trying to prove, but my husband was elegible for the draft at the exact same time. We had a young baby and he didn't try to get out of serving. Like Newt, they actually sent him home because of his having a child. He reported like the summons requested, filled out forms and was dismissed as quickly. Yes, he could have asked to serve, but for Paul to say Newt was wrong to get a deferment (spelling) was totally off base.
OLE RON PAUL just slipped and said...''I Don't believe in Absolutes.''
Why am I not surprised.
Though I have never supported him as most know, I have always admired how he sticks with his beliefs, last night he started to back down. I was disappointed in him for that.
GOFFSTOWN, N.H.–Front-runner Mitt Romney managed to sail above the fray at a critical Republican presidential debate Saturday night as rivals Ron Paul, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich sparred sometimes bitterly as they seemed to be battling for second place.
The 90-minute debate at St. Anselm College, aired on ABC, came just three days before the New Hampshire primary that could shape the rest of the contest for the Republican presidential nomination.
Romney, who was declared the winner of the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, now leads in statewide surveys in New Hampshire and South Carolina, which holds the following primary on Jan. 21. He seemed at times to assume he already had won the nomination, repeatedly using his questions to direct fire not at his rivals but at President Obama for what he called uncertain and even dangerous leadership.
For the most part I think all the candidates came prepared and did fine. Paul is starting to back down on some issues it appears.

I'm feeling sorry for the Doctor. He looks pained and frustrated. He has pointed out most of the corrupt stuff government has been getting away with...and therefore, has been VERY effective on that.
He's just too 'out there' with his other drumbeats.
How many Presidential debates have you ever seen where the candidates did answer the questions?
Kennedy/Nixon, Reagan/Mondale .... Obama/McCain fairly often. I was too young to vote in the Kennedy/Nixon, but Reagan impressed me in 1980, but by 1984, not so much and obviously, Obama crushed McCain in debates.
The Fox interview with Bret Baier was full of lies an distortions. That is why he was aggravated with it. Bret Baier either did not do his homework or he knew he was mistating the facts. I emailed him concerning this and Bret Baier wrote back saying that he did that to give Romney a chance to clarify and make the record clear. The problem is, he didn't let him clarify. When he tried to clarify, Bret Baier became confrontational with him.
Mitt Romney has had his share of attacks in these debates also. Rick Perry went after him almost every debate when his poll numbers were still good. Newt has also done his share of it. Rick Santorum has also. I don't know where people get that Romney goes unscathed. He has his share of negative ads out against him also....not just from the Republican candidates, but from the Obama campaign also.
I am no fan of Fox at all, but I thought Brets questions were fair, especially about his constant changing of positions. Everytime someone calls out Mitt on his positions, his patented response is, "you have your facts wrong, or thats just not true", even though there is countless video of him flip flopping.
If you get that mad about answering a question about your changing positions, what are you going to do in a real crisis. Its okay that you changed your position, but you should be able to give a coherent answer to defend it, instead of acting like you never changed. Its also worrisome, that he has changed so many major positions. When Ann Coulter is beating the drums for someone, as she was for Romney on the Hannity show this week, its a bit worrisome for me. She actually said that she liked Romney, and I am paraphrasing, because he could be influenced so she wasnt too worried about him winning the presidency. Thats the exact reason he worries me, because he may surround himself with a bunch of war lovers, and never stand up for his own principles.
Please tell me with spending out of control, the national debt in the ionosphere, jobs being number one on people's mind, the Gulf of Hormuz a huge issue, the European economy in the tank and threatening us as well, they didn't just spend a good chunk of debate time on contraception. For cryin' out loud ABC. You call yourself a news organization? Please the next time President Obama is on one of your programs, spend 20 minutes asking him about contraception.
I thought ABC did an excellent job of pointing out what a bunch of small-minded, petty, sniveling bigots these scumbags really are.
A presidential candidate who was in it for real would have found a way to turn his response back to subjects with a bit of substance. These shallow charlatans stumbled all over each other to demonstrate how inconsequential they really are.
