One of the biggest differences between this year's election cycle and 2008 is the emergence of the Super PAC's as a result of the Citizens United decision.
So far Restore Our Future (PAC supporting Romney) has spent the most, basically double anyone else, virtually all of it attacking Gingrich.
Making us Great again is 2nd in spending (Perry supporting PAC) with mostly ads in favor of Perry.
Winning our Future was close behind (though had a recent ad buy which likely puts it ahead of the Perry supporting PAC), about 30% of the ads being viewed as positive ads in support of Newt, the rest directed at negative ads against Romney.
These SuperPAC's can raise unlimited sums of $$$ from just a handful of wealthy individuals. Just looking to see everyone's thoughts on the Super PAC's.
And with the very real possibility that two or more seats on the SCOTUS will need to be filled in the next few years, the only way for that to happen is to make sure President Obama is re-elected.

Citizens United is a travesty.
OBAMA 2012 !!!
Obama has already betrayed his campaign promises and has proven that he is dedicated to the 1% ... He is gone if God is willing.

The Super Pac that is in most need of cleaning up is the Supreme Court.

OBAMA 2012 !!!
I don't know about you, but I don't want 4 more years of the big ''O'', let alone his croney's on the supreme court.
Superpacs can be funded by a wide range of organizations including rich people and unions. SuperPAC money can go to support candidates of any party. This takes the power of people out and puts it in the hands of people/corps/unions/organizations that have the big money.
Since SuperPacs are proving to be effective (ask Newt), they will become more popular. In a few years, we all will be even more pi$$ed about the common man not having a say. We are becoming a Corporatocracy - or at least a democracy where people with little money have even less influence.
Citizens United should be overturned and SuperPACs should be illegal.
I'm not going to support Obama just because of this issue (and his SCOTUS appointments) though.
