All you "raise the capital gains tax now" folks better be careful what you wish for. Do you even realize that a large portion of retirement income is in that category? Here we go....."you want to make granny eat cat food". Because if you continue down this road, you will be taxed at a higher rate when YOU retire.
You obviously don't know about retirement accounts. The money placed in IRAs, 401Ks, Roth IRAs, etc., are tax deferred when contributed but when they are withdrawn they are taxed at the ordinary income rate, not the capital gains rate.
I think people have a problem with Romney's wealth, period.
Nevertheless, he is far more successful financially than his father ever was. I give him credit for being able to accomplish what he has, even if he didn't start in the mailroom.
It is called having a leagacy, most wealthy people do better than their parents, because their parents paved the way with their influence in government/business and policies
Thank goodness Barack and Michelle "Marie Antoinette" Obama are in touch with the common people. That's if you assume the common people are composed of Hollywood elites, Wall Street power brokers and Marxist academicians.
They were not born wealthy that is what he was talking about
Well, if I had dirt of that magnitude on Newt, I'd wait until after he got the nomination to spring it.
What she thinks she has would be illegal to disclose if she thinks she's going to bring up one of the eighty-three failed accusations she tried to bring Newt down with. Plus, it's absolutely laughable that Nancy "The Inside Trader" Pelosi thinks she has dirt on someone while she, herself, was using I wider knowledge to profit at the expense of tax payers.

Why would anything not classified as national security be illegal to disclose? What law makes whatever she may have, illegal to disclose?

Romney was born on third base. You make it sound as if he hit a triple on his own.
What is interesting about his wealth is that in the last two years he's earned $43 million without actively being engaged in any business. That is starkly in contrast to the narrative that he's a hard-working job creator. He would have made that money sitting around the pool or skiing in Vale.
I was listening to Dave Ramsey today, he was talking about this very subject without naming names. Its such a hollow straw man argument that boils down to jealousy for some, and the transferring of their own belief system for others. When people look at Romney and see a good guy, a decent family man, who has been enormously successful through hard work & determination, but still gives to charities and his church, pays taxes fairly as required and wants to serve his country....they cant believe it. Thats all there is to it.
How about a wealthy man that cares about his family but wants make sure that the money that he has inherited continues to make more money by influencing policy?
Romney has absolutle nothing in common with me and my financial status. $42 million in 2 years for sitting on his backside? Pluuueeze!
