As far as failed politician....... not really sure where in America's history books the name Fred Thompson will appear for political achievement?

I don't know Thompson's record (you seem to suggest you do) , but if a person represented their constituents' interests (which is what they are elected to do) , I'm not sure that warrants mention in the history books.
