I have plenty of compassion for people AND dogs, but y'all are going WAAAYYY over the top on this. Would you let your dog ride i the back of a truck? Do you let your dog stick it's face out the window?

Ask ANY veterinarian... this was a cruel act by Mitty. You are no better for defending such actions ! You should be ashamed. How about we strap you on top of a roof of a car for a 12 hour trip on the freeway. That would be cruel to a human or an animal !

Go spew your self-righteous garbage at someone you can intimidate. I've had dogs all my life, and the wind in the back of a truck is no greater than the wind on the top of a station wagon. In fact, since the dog was in a veterinarian-approved carrier WITH a windshield, it is likely that the dog didn't have to deal with wind at all.

out the window on the highway - yes going 60-75 mph. Went cross country from NJ to NM that way.
