"What planet does Massachusetts Senate Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren live on when owning a $5 million home doesn’t constitute being wealthy?"

"I realize there are some wealthy individuals – I’m not one of them..."

"Hard to see how Warren wouldn't be, by most standards, wealthy, according to the Personal Financial Disclosure form she filed to run for Senate shows that she's worth as much as $14.5 million. She earned more than $429,000 from Harvard last year alone for a total of about $700,000, and lives in a house worth $5 million."

More Hypocrisy: Elizabeth Warren Says She

What gall! I'm not against being wealthy; just hypocrisy.

I see it as no different from those in the bottom 99% who don't consider themselves part of the OWS "We are the 99%" crowd. It's not hypocrisy. Just a different mindset.

It probably also helps that Elizabeth Warren was not born wealthy. People tend to associate themselves with the social class they grew up in, even if it changes over time.

And do you give that pass to someone like Romney, who also wasn't born into wealth?

I suppose wealth depends on where you are sitting on that income distribution curve. From where I sit; Elizabeth you may not be a Warren Buffet, but baby you are wealthy. I still love ya, but you really step in a pile of doo-doo with that line.

She definitely does fit into the 1% based on that income level. I'm not sure where the big hypocrisy is other than the OP is overly emotional.

Most people perceive their wealth based on their cohorts. She probably knows people a lot more wealthy.

"...for the former Harvard professor to oust incumbent Senator Scott Brown in November, she must craft a compelling narrative that will resonate with her constituents. Over the last several months, for example, she has positioned herself as a crusader for the middle class by castigating Wall Street bankers, financiers, and wealthy business executives."
"... the so-called intellectual founder of the Occupy Wall Street movement is, in fact, a one-percenter."

The fact that you cannot see the hypocrisy does not make it any less real.

Well, then she should be willing to give us all some of her wealth, because we know she didn't get it on her own.

People won't be breaking into her home, because we've paid for her protection, she can drive on the roads, because we paid to have them built. At least this is what she has said, about the weathly.

She probably doesn't know the sky is blue, either............

Use some common sense. Being a so called 1 percenter is not just about being wealthy. It's an attitude and mindset. Please provide links that show where Warren has made money off of the backs of the working class or has her money hidden in offshore accounts. Has she outsourced jobs and employed slave labor? Has she bankrupted businesses as a vulture capatialist? Has she cheated her stockholders Has she started a Ponzi scheme? Has she not paid taxes? Are you comparing Warren's net worth to the real 1 Percent? Warren is fighting to defend the middle class consumer and put a stop to Wall Street B.S. Warren came up through the ranks. She did not inherit or not earn with hard work what she achieved. What an asinine thread!

This was coming down the pike. Warren will be smeared continuously by the right wing spin machine because she is going to wipe the floor with Scott Brown at election time and Brown's Wall Street puppet masters know it. They will spend gazillions to defeat Warren, but they will not be able to.
