If Obama was real and not fake, people would want to see him win.

It is a shame that there are only two parties to choose from. The massive headlock that both parties have over the political system is, as someone said here, approaching totalitarianism. I would like to see that stranglehold broken in my lifetime. Unfortunately, most Americans approach politics like they approach food these days, and go for the "pre-packaged" deal rather than seeking out the individual ingredients (qualities, character, policies, intangibles) that make up a candidate.

We cannot afford to let that happen. Four years of Obama is enough! One must make a choice. And it ain't gonna be Obama!

Good for you for having the foritude to being honest. If we take Obama on his words, and we taped in way back when, so please do not go there with me. He said this Country, would get back on it's feet, we would be a together Country, not divided, we would be a Country, with a good solid economy! and we would be a Country of Such Change!

His words not ours. We are a divided Country, nothing about any of us being together, if anything, i have never seen so much division of the people. If this economy, is what he had in store for us, as a Good economy, who was he kidding. And if this is the Change he was talking about every chance he got, what CHANGE! I KNOW SOME who are literally looking for the pocket change now.

It is our right, to vote for who we feel is going to help this Country. Did we not give Obama his chance! we did. All any of us want as Americans, is a good thriving economy and Country to live in.

I think that there are a lot of people who do understand this! but for some odd reason, because we are speaking about OBAMA, don't want to give in.

I feel a lot of people recognize this, but won't admit it.

Too many of them (there are roughly 40% of Americans that approve of the job Obama is doing, depending on which polls you look at - some have him below 40%) still blame G. W. Bush, despite the fact that Obama has been in office for over three years now. This is pure ignorance.

Art Laffer has said that the economy could be turned around almost over night with the right policies. Thus, I think, it shows that Obama does not wish to turn it around, or he is just that stupid. It's one or the other. I do not believe he is stupid. Rather, he is a believer in the Cloward/Piven strategy of collapsing the economy, and then substituting a socialist government.

But more or less to realize how propagated we have become.

I don't know how you can even say Ron Paul's foreign policy is anything compared to Obama's. Obama didn't meet the timelines in Iraq and he ramped UP the war in Afghanistan. Obama has sent drones to Libya and Iran. Now he is thumbing his nose in Africa. Obama is nothing even remotely close to a non-interventionist.

Out of all the candidates, Ron Paul is who I align with the most. I don't think his foreign policy is scary at all. Unless you feel we have to bludgeon everybody else because of the amount of quicksand we have sunk into....Then I can see your point. If you honestly feel that way then the inevitable is going to happen no matter what method is applied.

And Newt Gingrich is a scumbag who can be bought by the highest bidder.

But as far as Santorum is concerned....I would never vote for Santorum. He can be conservative to the core, he can preach less government... but he is probably one of the biggest advocates for more military-industrial complex. He would deploy to Iran overnight.

I respect your opinion...but I believe the future of our country is in a third party or perhaps something even more drastic.
I realize you didn't open the thread as a "bash Obama" thread. But since he is the alternative to any of the others, it's pretty hard to discuss the issues that are important to our current state of affairs and pretend that Obama is not the primary cause.

As to your comment about Santorum, remember that one of the primary purposes of the Federal Government (according to the Constitution) is "to provide for the common defense", and "ensure the blessings of liberty" (I think those two go hand in hand).

The world is a dangerous place, and it is far more dangerous now than it was at our founding. I even would venture to say it is more dangerous now than at any time since WWII. There are people in the world intent on our destruction.

With this in mind, I think it is important that we have the best defense money can buy. This means the best weapons our current technology can provide, the most modern ships, planes and other military hardware, as well as the best trained men and women in our military.

Government throws money away on useless programs (investing in "green" technology that is far from proven, and should be done by the private sector only). We are now about to launch an expensive "health care" program, and Obama even talks about providing free college tuition. All these things come at the expense of defense (which he has drastically cut).

And we look the other way while our enemies develop their nuclear weapons and other military hardware, much of it with technology they stole from us, or we foolishly sold to them. How stupid are we?

I have no doubt that any one of these candidates would be far better than Obama. In the end, we must unite behind one of them. To sit out is a vote for Obama, and that would be disastrous.
