If Santorum ditches, those votes will likely go to Newt and that would tighten things up immensely. After all, Romney's big FL win was still with less than 50% of the GOP vote. Lots of Republicans are still voting for the anti-Mitt candidates.
My guess: Santorum is staying in as an attempt to gain Romney's favor for the veep slot.
Funnily enough PPP has found Santorum has the highest favorability ratings among all the candidates, and would likely do the best in a two-person race against Romney from here on out.
Newt needs to wake up and face facts. The fact is that he has been totally rejected by the voters and defeated big time by Romney. Yet Newt's ego won't let him do the right thing and step aside and get on board with Romney so we can win in November. All Newt is doing now is making Obama stronger as he continues to pound on the party heir apparent Romney. Newt should know that he cannot save himself at this point. He cannot win. He can only weaken Romney against Obama. If he really loves America, he will step aside and endorse Mitt Romney.
Hush! We ALL want the Nutster to stay in til the convention and beyond.

What happened to the American way? if you don't know what I am talking about, look at it this way, a primary season is just that, it always has been and always will be and should be. Loving our country has nothing to do with it. Now, if after the convension Newt decides not to support anyone, that is a different story...

Yet, his favorability does not translate to actual votes for some reason.
[quote=Vegas Joe;22810546Every dollar Romney has to spend defeating Newt is a dollar that cannot be spent on defeating Obama which is every American's goal. quote]
You got some facts to prove this statement?
As far as I and many others see, it is only the GOP's goal, which by fact the GOP has stated since they took the house.
Newt could care less about America, he is only in for the power and the money. Why do you think he went on a book tour while all the other candidates were campaigning.

Gingrich should get out and back Paul not Romney. Romney will be a disaster.
lol Newt should back the weakest candidate in the race and drop out? By that logic, Hillary should've backed out after the Florida primary and endorsed Dennis Kucinich lmao
