Romney padded the lead with the rest of Araphoe (numbers there make a bit more sense now) El Paso (Colorado Springs) margin is going to be very important (Jefferson as well)

Romney won Arapahoe in '08 by over 4100. Romney wins Arapahoe by just over 700 votes.

I hadn't heard of Paul explicitly saying he wanted a brokered convention.

Newt only cares about Newt. Regardless of who we want to win the election, I think we can all agree that Newt is pathetic.

Colorado as a whole trended more Democratic after 2004, just like the rest of the country, until 2010.

I though I had heard it, but it may have been something a Paul strategist put out.

Campaign strategy says that Ron Paul really is in it to win it

I'm glad that Romney has taken the lead. My apologies to all of you who were rooting for Santorum.

Santorum still definitely has a chance.

Even in 2010 Colorado elected (non-incumbent) Democrats to the US Senate and as Governor.

Yep, but the Republicans took several House districts.

If the GOP had nominated a candidate who wasn't as far to the right as Buck, they probably would have won the Senate election. (The situation in Nevada and, to a lesser extent, Delaware was similar.)

They took back a couple seats that were very Republican to begin with (Tancredo and Musgrave's old districts)
