They owe everything to Morton Downey Jr. May he rest in Peace. I loved the guy

I also voted for Paul in '88. Thanks for the memories

"Mort! Mort! Mort!" I loved that show.

Really why do we even bother posting back to Trace its not like it really makes a difference.
Even if we prove him wrong time and time again the agenda is not working. Trace might soon have a job with the national media so he can remind us all how pointless this post is.

I see what making alcohol and cigarettes legal did to people I sure don't want that with more serious drugs.

I agree with tax money being put toward mental health but in what way would you want that done? I'd like to hear your opinion on that.
Every place where decriminalized and/or legalized drugs has taken place,
crime and drug use has been reduced - chalk it up to human nature and
common sense.

Three strikes of which I am no fan, is a thread all it's own.
Jail is the worst place for a drug addict and other non violent offenders.

We already have needle programs to pass out free, clean needles to heroin
addicts as not to pass along infection, Aids, or Hepatitis B. That's a good
thing
Drug rehab programs for harder drugs can be paid for by taxing the legalized
and/or decriminalized drugs at the state level.
The same way one pays alcohol or cigarette tax now for health programs.

Sure, we can keep asking the same old question,
Is marijuana like a potato chip, can you have just one,
but "gateway drug", way over reach.
Alcohol & cigarettes have done far more damage to folks
than M ever could, and STILL I would not want those drugs
illegal.

Hemp should never have been on any prohibition list. An amazing plant that
economically would be THE amazing grace for our country....

What sticks out to me is Ron Paul having more concern about the victims of the drug war than Charles "King of Harlem" Rangle.

Reminds of what Ice T once said:

Ice-T schools Arsenio - YouTube

The first minute says it all.

"Ideas are very important to the shaping of society. In fact, they are more powerful than bombings or armies or guns. And this is because ideas are capable of spreading without limit. They are behind all the choices we make. They can transform the world in a way that governments and armies cannot. Fighting for liberty with ideas makes more sense to me than fighting with guns or politics or political power. With ideas, we can make real change that lasts.” " ― Ron Paul, Liberty Defined: The 50 Urgent Issues That Affect Our Freedom
