PRINCETON, NJ -- By 53% to 45%, Republicans, including independents who lean Republican, are slightly more likely than Democrats and Democratic leaners to say they are "more enthusiastic than usual about voting" this year. Republicans have consistently led Democrats in voting enthusiasm since last fall, but to varying degrees.
I expect the Democratic enthusiasm will grow very fast once a Republican nominee is decided.
There is a steadily growing confidence in Obama's winning in all the liberal sites I read, but for sure, confidence and enthusiasm are different things.
I'm hoping the confidence is not over-confidence; only a big Democratic turnout can make the confidence a reality.
As a liberal, the ghost of Tom Dewey has loomed large in my thinking for months. The Republicans thought Truman was on the ropes and out for the count back then, too. Harry pulled it out himself by stirring the fires of enthusiasm, and Obama will have to do the same.
So what this poll shows is that even with all of the news, the debates, the negative ads, the campaigning, the elections already going on and the fact that there is basically nothing going on with the Democrats the GOP is only up by 8%?
Remember: this is the same pollster that has Santorum beating Obama by 2 points. hahaha
Where did they take this poll? In Alabama? LOL!
why would you say Alabama, shows how little you know? Alabama will go Newt in the primary, of course you are talking general election and you might end up being very surprised.....Of course Santorum wouldn't even get the nomination so what is your point?
