Having Newt stay in may actually be better for Romney unless he can totally shut Santorum out too (which is certainly not outside the realm of possibility, particularly with the way Washington seems to be going in spite of the fact polls had Santorum with a double digit lead there not long ago). We shall see

This is true. It seems a lot of websites I visit have NEWT 2012 and his drilling slogan showing up... Shocked by the poll results though...

Yep. I hope he wins Ga and Tn so he stays in longer...longer all 4 stay in the better Paul is doing and the easier we can get a convention that is split.

Very surprised by this poll. Also, I don't get the republican party's love for Romney. I also feel like the general electorate is just saying okay Romney is it because he has one a few states (which is was favored in anyway).

Yeah, I don't think there's much chance anyone else will win Georgia. If Newt wins Georgia, you know he's not dropping out until after the convention, if he ever actually makes a concession of defeat.

From what I have heard Gingrich is planing to use a possible win in Georgia as a spring board into the mid-March primaries in Mississippi, Alabama and Kansas. If Gingrich is successful at least in Mississippi and Alabama I really think it could bolster him through to the convention.

Gingrich will more than likely win in GA, but this recent poll shows his support might be shaky so anything can happen and GA might not want to be SC.

I don't think it will take him that far. But if Romney beats Santorum in Ohio and Georgia, beats him in other swing contests, and holds his own in TN/OK, then I do think Gingrich could have another revival, but I don't think it will be as big as last time, and it certainly won't last. It would help him the following the week though, no doubt.

If Gingrich lead in Georgia holds, as it is very likely, being that even Sarah Palin predicted he would win; then it is true that in the republican party South Carolina and Georgia know how to pick their presidential candidates.
