Ive wonderd this for awhile now... What is it about him that the people dont like? Is he too honest? or are the other candidates just really more appealing than Ron? Anyone?
He is no more honest or less consistent than Santorum. The problem with him is that he lives in a Utopia, propped up by a bunch of ideologues. A part of this utopian living is also reflected in his desire to identify self as a republican.

Because despite the arguments of Paul supporters, most people don't agree with him. Paul has laid out his positions very clearly, and the majority of people, at least in the GOP primary, do not support them.

Ron Paul is bat hsit crazy.
And if he thinks that he could actually implement even a fraction of what he says that he stands for. If we thought that we saw obstructionism under Obama it would be full-on rejection of Ron Paul.
The country would be a DISASTER if Ron Paul were to have it his way. He is an extremist and that is why he's dead last in delegate count, has zero endoresments, and has yet to win a single state in the primaries. He should just drop out already.

Ron Paul's message is very different from everyone else's, and to understand his ideas, one will need to rethink a lot of what one has been brought up to believe and is engrained in the psyche of many people. But because it's an honest, truthful and Constitutional message, once one "gets" it, he/she cannot "unget" it.
Also, your definition of "losing" may not be the same as mine. To me, winning is more than getting the popular vote in a straw poll. It's the spreading of an idea and people waking up to the 2-party scam we are under. That idea is fast spreading, and while it may or may not spread fast enough to manifest itself as straw poll victories, in the long run, this idea will win, and win big.
Paul has lit a spark in many of us, and we will carry that torch on, while the rest of the people thoughtlessly ponder on which status quo candidate to vote on based on superficial differences. (Should I vote for the candidate who is going to cut my income tax to 20% or should I go with the one who will cut it to 19%? We want ZERO %. You get the idea.)

He is considered an extremist because (borrowing from the theme to Weeds) he isn't "part of those went to the Ivy League universities, where they were put in boxes and they came out all the same, And there's doctors and lawyers, and business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look/act just the same."
This, in a nutshell, is why both the Democratic and Republican parties are corrupt, worthless, and all the ticky-tacky voters vote in the same box.
