I wanted to see which states REALLY didn't want Romney including the ones he won. So using the Washington Post State by State numbers, I added up the NOT Romney vs Romney results. I did not count the results for Mississippi, Alabama and Hawaii that didn't have all of their precincts reported yet, and excluded Ron Paul voters which if counted would have upped the NOT Romney percents even more. I went state by state to see if the NOT Romney vote (Santorum, Gingrich, Others) was bigger than the Romney vote. The numbers are percents. In red are the states that preferred NOT ROMNEY.
Iowa: 53.2 vs Romney 24.5 New Hampshire: 37.9 vs Romney 39.3 South Carolina: 59.2 vs Romney 27.9 Florida: 46.6 vs Romney 46.4 Nevada: 31.2 vs Romney 50.1 Colorado: 53.4 vs Romney 34.9 Minnesota: 56.1 vs Romney 16.9 Maine: 39 vs Romney 26.0 Arizona: 44.3 vs Romney 47.3 Michigan: 47.3 vs Romney 41.1 Washington: 37.6 vs Romney 37.7 Alaska: 43.6 vs Romney 32.4 Georgia: 67.6 vs Romney 25.9 Idaho: 20.3 vs Romney 61.6 Massachusetts: 18.3 vs Romney 72.2 North Dakota: 48.2 vs Romney 23.7 Ohio: 52.9 vs Romney 37.9 Oklahoma: 62.3 vs Romney 28.0 Tennessee: 62.9 vs Romney 28.1 Vermont: 34.8 vs Romney 39.7 Kansas: 66.4 vs Romney 20.9 Wyoming: 43.7 vs Romney 44.1
***Virginia: no one else on the ballot vs Romney 59.5 percent
So of the 23 states (excluding Virginia that didn't have a NOT Romney choice on the ballot because we aren't counting Ron Paul voters) that voted, 14 states (or 64 percent) preferred NOT Romney.
Of those 14 states that preferred NOT Romney, he actually won Florida, Maine, Michigan, Alaska and Ohio even though those states preferred NOT Romney.
I contend Romney is a very weak supposed "front runner" or as they have been referring to him on Fox News since before Iowa, inevitable.

I will update this periodically.
You must not read any other thread starters? You are far from the only one who realizes Romney is weak and a bad choice for GOP. And Santorum doesn't appeal to many either. It's a disaster for GOP...but more so for USA.
>> ''One sure, brutal fact and truth came forth from tonight's Alabama and Mississippi Primaries. The GOP has NO Solid candidatethey can put forth for nomination for POTUSA.''
The GOP spent 8 horrific years wrecking this country under Bush, then another 4 years being Neanderthal obstructionists beause they couldn't stomach the reality that an incredible black man had the potential to run this country better than they could ever imagine. Enter Romney, the ultimate idiotic goon. He is unwanted. Absolutely no chance against this President.
The GOP primary races aren't worth paying attention to, and represent a mere formality that the country has to put up with. Romney stinks as these numbers show, no question. What a goon.
Its incredible that the community organizer has taken the coutry as far down as he has and people think he is doing a good job. 2 years having control of the house and senate and he did nothing.
Obama voters are the people that want things from the government. They have no understanding of the role of government. JFK is spinning in his grave because all of the democrats got it backwards. It has gone from "ask not what your country can do for you..." to "what do I get free from the government?"
Laura, do you honestly think every vote for Newt, Paul, or Santorum wouldn't vote for Romney in November? Or be a 2nd choice?
Just like in 08 the {R} party voters were not fired up and McCain was spanked by Obama. At least McCain had his warmongering rhetoric and a cheer leader {Palin} where Mittens not so much. Who can out warmonger McCain? I just do not see how a nominee that a majority did not want beating Obama.

hmmm, I think Rick Santorum would out warmonger McCain, heck he even spoke of Cuba being a threat to the US..I dont want him anywhere NEAR the trigger. He has a horrible temper, and strikes me as being quite impulsive

I'm just saying if Romney is the candidate there will be an awful lot of states and people "settling" for a guy they don't want and the numbers prove it once you realize that even in 5 states he won, he really didn't pull in the majority of votes and Florida, Michigan (your state) and Ohio aren't small potatoes, either.
Because the argument could be made that Paul voters will not vote Republican if Paul is not the candidate, they'll vote Johnson or Obama.
