Short of 15% official unemployment (not U6), and $8 per gallon gas, NO. This would be a repeat of the 64 race.

Remember, the Independents .... who always decide elections .... will vote for the more moderate candidate, not the most liberal or the most conservative. By lurching to the right, Santorum might pick up the Republican nomination but he will lose any chance at the presidency. The only GOP candidate who can beat Obama is Romney.

Santorum is Catholic in name only. He uses the church to push his own platform, and should be recognized as a disgrace by the church for pushing the agenda's of many rouge priests and not the core beliefs. Esspecially when it comes to the intervention between the church and the state(which is clearly laid out by the doctrine)!

I am a Catholic so I share many of his moral beliefs, I just think the man has let his personal beliefs corrupt his politics. He really needs to read the constitution and the intentions of the founders of the nation. They didn't want clergy or bible thumpers anywhere near the government.

Today I saw this article about Santorum pledging to end internet porn

Rick Santorum | Internet Pornography | Vigorous Crackdown | The Daily Caller

Yes, kind of crazy and probably impossible but it does make me respect the man for sticking his neck out where he knows it will take some whacks from many sharp weapons.
Unfortunately, I think that he could indeed win. I know that he's extreme, but in a rough economy, his populist message, tireless charisma and whiteness could win over many of the voters in this country. This country did elect George W twice! Let us not forget that.

His charisma?! Are you kidding? Yes, Bush was elected twice, but Bush was just stupid. Rick Santorum is a psycho and a moron at the same time. Also in terms of personality, Bush was much more likable. Santorum has no charm nor is likable. In fact he is offensive.

He's Catholic? I kinda assumed based on his overall style that he was an evangelical...
