Machine Casts Phantom Votes in the Bronx, Invalidating Real Ones: Report - WNYC
quote:
Tests on an electronic voting machine that recorded shockingly high numbers of extra votes in the 2010 election show that overheating may have caused upwards of 30 percent of the votes in a South Bronx voting precinct to go uncounted.

Why Online Voting Isn’t So Safe | Mobiledia
quote:
Federal authorities are also examining Weaver's activities to decide if such hacking may interfere with state or national elections.
Unlike in the school election, voters don't casting their ballots online yet. However, that may change. In a few Oregon counties, election workers are using iPads and portable printers to call up ballots and tap the screen to vote. As the electronic voting expands, so does the risk for hacking, which may invalidate election results.

1/11 - Epollbook data files
quote:
It should be noted that who can vote and who did vote in Shelby County in August 2010 was the basis for a 10-candidate lawsuit, currently heading for appeal, and that the records provided by the county conflict with each other (ie, more votes than voters in some locations; voters told they had already voted when they had not, and mismatched data).

Please remember that Shelby County never informed the public that their e-pollbooks were giving out wrong results, or that 3,221 votes were on the books without any corresponding voter. That was pointed out only after an analysis here, and at first, they lied about it, telling the press it was triple-counted absentee votes (when in fact, it was ghost-voted at polls votes).

(TN) 5/12 - CAUGHT RED HANDED
quote:
D. Harris did not just have his 2008 voting history erased. Every vote he had ever cast, going back to 2000, had been erased. I took the official Shelby County voter list, filedate 2010 (obtained by court order in a lawsuit) and compared it with the voter history list from 2011.

488 voters had their histories erased.

ALMOST ALL VOTERS WERE BLACK

Of these, according to the 2011 database, 430 are Black. It is against the law to alter voter records. It is a civil rights violation to select Black voter records for alteration.

This highlights the importance of videotaping.
VIDEOTAPED VOTE ALTERATION SHOWS IMPORTANCE OF CAPTURIN...

Read this detailed article on videotaped vote alteration in Casco, Maine here in The Independent: Casco vote tampering investigation underway -- The Independent

While reading the Casco article, those who are emotionally invested in the Republican presidential primary might also want to ponder this: Several Nevada caucus locations prohibited media observation, and in Clark County where it WAS allowed, a reporter from the Los Angeles Times was kicked out. She was called a "spy" when she attempted to witness the caucus.

* Maybe because there is growing concern and some weak calls for investigation.
* Possible whistleblowers within the industry coming forth (they would still have the suppressed vote to rely on).
I can't believe Americans would allow an unverifiable system of voting to be sneaked in on them. Too much apathy out there!

I think many people don't understand it is unverifiable. The media doesn't really discuss it either. They were marketed a problem then a solution. I believe most are really unaware of what is happening. They spend a huge amt of time covering what they call "voter suppression" instead of the "real" issue imo.

Even if they do recounts in many places you need a judge's permission and the recounts aren't really recounts.

I was unaware of most of this til I investigated. The MCM simply ignores this issue. They even say they "certify" these machines, but when you see what that entails you realize what a joke it is.

Look at Wisconsin. They got machines documented as "failing" repeatedly, no attempt to "verify" the vote. People just accept it, but not like it is really being discussed with the public either. So I think there is a "dissonance", but mostly a lack of information on the issue.

53% racial minorities in that county. Poor whites? Let's see where this goes. Jeez, we had better get accountability into the system or we're in trouble.
