What the writer misses is that religion actually sets moral standards and that just because some are not what they say is nothing new. He might for insatnces look at the biggest fraud polically played on the american people in my lifetime in morals. It was the whole Camelot ;JFK thing. Its clear by now that its was actaully reenforced by the press hiding what they ;because they agreed with the politics of those pushing it.That perhaps was what has brought into question the very ethics of journalism and harmed it. Christianity has always said that man is a sinner but even then doesnot support sinning by its own memebers. Whe those who do over look it they are part of the problem. Scoiety iteslf thru its laws actually punsihes those people if not criminall then civiilally. Morals is a set standard of behvour by the majrotiy of people i na society. In the end perhaps the ten commandments have long set thsoe standards even to actually being reflected for centuries by long accepted laws.Santorium should not be critized for his morals standard but looked at to see if he actaully lives upto his own standard reciognising he is a sinner also. The writer IMO is just another anti-christian proponent and nothing else really;which is common thru out the history of Christianity.

You can sort them out.

The Mayan calendar states the world will end on 12/21/2012, America's end of a representative republic may just cease for good on November 6, 2012. When we all finally surrender.
Well,I can't add much to it because you pretty much hit it right....those Mayan's had one hell of a sense of` humor though didn't they

Nah, they just ran out of chisels. Then they prophecied themselves right out of the picture.

Well,those chisels were worth a couple of goats,a couple of kids and a woman or two....you can't just waste them things.

I am not sure they went extinct....I think they just moved up to Nm and Az and started selling jewelry beside the road and blended in with the locals.

Gun sales are up, as is anything to do with Survivalists. This EOTW crap has been going on for 2,000 years now...the Apostles expected Christ to return in their lifetimes. In the Middle Ages, people thought that the bubonic plague was the EOTW. People thought that the Cuban Missile Crisis was the EOTW. People believed that the new millenium was the EOTW. Some theories about 2012 refer to an awakening or enlightenment;
I hope they're right. What a blessing it would be if people who thrive on hatred woke up on December 22nd with love in their hearts.

No Doomsday in 2012

[quote] Doomsday
When something ends (even something as innocent as an ancient calendar), people seem to think up the most extreme possibilities for the end of civilization as we know it. A brief scan of the internet will pull up the most popular to some very weird ways that we will, with little logical thought, be wiped off the face of the planet. Archaeologists and mythologists on the other hand believe that the Mayans predicted an age of enlightenment when 13.0.0.0.0 comes around; there isnít actually much evidence to suggest doomsday will strike. If anything, the Mayans predict a religious miracle, not anything sinister.[end quote]

In my opinion, these are the views of a DRAMA QUEEN

The Spaniards showed up and killed the calendar maker.

Damn, Georgia. That pretty well sums it up. And to add insult to injury, we get Old Mother Hubbard in 2016.

I won't knock Santorum's moral standards. They are the same ones any Christian should have, whether they meet those standards or not.

Where he and I part ways is that he would use the power of government to compel "moral" behavior, in effect making government the enforcer of God's will. That's an idea not only contrary to the Constitution and the principles of the Declaration of Independence, it's un-scriptural if not a downright false Gospel.

We would quickly come to rue the day if we ever empowered people like Santorum to order the lives of The People by Biblical edict backed by the force of law.
