Latest PPP poll has Elizabeth Warren with a five point lead over Scott Brown in Mass Senate race:

I kinda like Brown. If he'd turn Independent and consistently voted with the Dems on their more common-sense, moderate initiatives, I wouldn't mind if Mass kept him around.

But we need the Senate

I hope he is defeated. he is a tea party man. I will never support him no matter how he votes.

Here is the problem, we're too concerned about labels and partisanship in this country. He could vote completely how you want him to and you still wouldn't support him just because he is nominally aligned with the tea party (an opinion held by no tea partier I've ever met, btw). Obviously they supported him over Coakley in 2010. And since it was the only race going on at the time and a prime opportunity to try and stop Obamacare, of course they did it enthusiastically. But would anyone consider him a tea party Republican? no, I do not think so.

I think this will be one of the most expensive Senate races of all time, if not the most. I think it would be a shame to see another moderate fall to an extremist. And I know I'm biased since I am a Republican anyway, but I think I could vote for, say, Senator Manchin if I were in West Virginia were he to run against a very extreme Republican. Though I think the fact that control of the senate is at stake may make people on both side more cautious about crossing over to vote for a moderate in the other party. It would be interesting if the GOP lost both Snowe and Brown.

If I remember right, Brown p****d off the TP by voting FOR Obamacare.

I agree, it's fun to get on this board and route for our team (and blow Bronx cheers at the other side ). But this isn't a game. Hyperpartisanship interferes with governing, and prevents us from solving problems. The continuing loss of moderates from both sides is worrisome. I don't know if I would call Warren an extremist, though.

Of course, as a Dem, I have my own opinion as to which party deserves most of the blame for this state of affairs. I'm hoping that the GOP will suffer such heavy losses in 2012 that they find the courage to shout down the wackos that have come to dominate their party.

I dont care. tea party is very dangerous and if they win racism wins. Anyone with tea party tied to them should be fought tooth and nail.

I kind of used to like Brown until he voted for the NDAA. I don't like Warren and I just moved to NH so I won't be giving either one of them my vote anyway.

I remember he voted with the Dems on something right after the election, that ticked off the TP, since they helped elect him. If it wasn't Obamacare, anyone remember what it was?

I remember him supporting a Democratic jobs bill pretty soon after his election, but I don't know if that was the big one. I remember the tea party really helped propel him to victory but anyone who looked at his record (and even his campaign rhetoric) knew he was going to be a moderate.

Golly, it is really hard for me to think anyone is so closed minded that they vote party only, but I guess there are those who do see it that way. You seem to also spend a lot of time looking for any poll you can find that might make your candidate look better to everyone. Oh well, who knows, yes, your party does need to control the senate; otherwise, if Obama wins he might not have a chance to turn the country into socialism.
