Obama changes his cadence and style of talk depending on the race or economic class of the audience.

Let's see if he actually changes any policy positions
I guess that depends on your definition of "changing" policy positions. If you are still a Romney supporter, that's evidence your tolerance level for changing policies is pretty high.

Romney is ALREADY wasting no time drifting back toward the middle policy-wise, as nearly everyone knew he would have to to be competitive in the general. The question is, how much wiggle room did he leave himself with The Base, who he just spent five years trying to convince he is "severely conservative"?

I don't know one policy Romney has changed, and I can only think of one issue he has changed his opinion on in a manner more than one of a few degrees to the right/left.

We already know Obama has SKILLS!

The point of this thread is, having demonstrated the abilty to win the GOP nom, does ROMNEY have the skills to pull off the kind of political gymnastics he needs to win in the fall?

Sorry, I don't mean to pull this thread off course into a more general argument about Romney's consistency/lack thereof. We have plenty more threads to debate that in.

In this case, I think it's a valid question. As a Romney fan, I know his style can be somewhat awkward. So I think it could be concerning to some of us as to whether he can pull this off, even though it's the same thing every other candidate ever has done. Plus, I don't the media will be as accepting.

No one believes he is "severely conservative" if you actually are conservative.

I don't think Romney will beat Obama. Hope I am wrong. He is very good(Obama)at dividing the electorate into different niches. Whether it be the fake "War On Women" or trying to gain political advantage from the Martin shooting,he will do anything to get elected.

All true, but I'd hate to be so pessimistic about my candidate's chances.

I think the next 3 months will tell us a lot. Too much Obama success as we enter fall will look phony just like the unemployment rate does now. We all know Obama is a skilled campaigner but many who never really knew him before are starting to see through him.
