Edges out Obama while Romney, suffering from Obama’s enthusiasm gap, at best ties Obama

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul again polls better against President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup than establishment-choice moderate Mitt Romney, according to a poll released today from Rasmussen.

The poll notes that in a general election matchup, the 12-term Congressman from Texas edges out Obama by 1 percentage point, 44 to 43 percent. The survey also notes that in a hypothetical 2012 head-to-head, Obama and Romney are tied at 45 percent, which bodes poorly for Republicans being urged to believe the race is over, only to later experience buyer’s remorse.

lol in all honesty, Ron Paul would get crushed. The man has beliefs that are too whacked out for the American mainstream. People know very little about Paul now, they think of him as an honest politician who is against the bloat of the federal government. They don't know that he would deregulate corporations to the point they'd COMPLETELY run America, repeal antitrust and environmental protection laws and end all forms of welfare. That's a good thing to about 10% of Americans but remember the last Republican to run on a libertarian platform was Barry Goldwater in 1964 and he got one of the worst electoral beatings in American history. It doesn't make sense that things would play out differently in 2012.

Those of you in denial know that Romney would lose to Obama in a general election. Romney's wealth has already done him in. If you want Obama out of office, You'd better vote for Ron Paul.

What a joke. Ron Paul can barely obtain votes in his own party. He has been loosing thought the entire primary race. I am honestly a little frightened by his supporters whom refuse to see this.

Silly Born To Run...you should know better by now. The poll is only legit if it says their guy is winning. Get with the program!

You should be more frightened if you think Romney has this in the bag. Most of his support is corporate. The popular vote has moved towards Ron Paul.

I support Paul, and plan to vote for him regardless of the outcome. I'd LOVE to see him debate Obama! Sadly I don't think it will happen. Needless to say, neither Romney, nor Obama will get my vote. Oh sure, I'll get the "your throwing your vote away" crap! Save it! I'm done with the status quo-lesser of two evils!
