Lightbulb Romney’s Favorability Is Weakest on Record, Polling Shows

Mitt Romney is facing a severe crisis of popularity.

He has the weakest favorability ratings on record for a presumptive presidential nominee at this stage of the campaign, according to new polling by ABC News and The Washington Post. The organizations have been measuring such popularity since 1984.

One of the MSM pundits (I don't recall who right now) a few days ago said that GOP professionals will never mention it publicly, but in private none of them thinks Romney will win.

Romney's poll numbers give him a very good shot at this. His unfavorability has peaked and can only go up from here. Everything that could be brought out against him already has been. Every weakness that could be exploited has been. I'm glad we got it out of the way in the primary. The fact that he is so competitive with Obama even at this point in the race with such bad numbers should worry Democrats.

Some/many GOP loyalist consultants who appear on the various news networks have said for a long time, and continue to say, that once you get beyond the campaign stop rhetoric, Romney is thin on substance. They say, also, that unless he undergoes a major personal transformation, he will not compare favorably with the President in debates.

It's entirely possible for voters to like Romney less, after-all, he's going to continue to speak.

You could say the same thing about his competition.

we already said the GOP is throwing the election that is all.
they just want to lose so badly and give OBAMA an excuse for a second term.

that is a secret deal they made behind the scenes imo that many don't want to admit.

the current neo-cons are the same as the current neo-con democrat side president, in corporate America pocketbooks. bought and paid for puppets.

we already said this time and time again.

so many on these boards and the world would have the mass media tell them whom to vote for rather than thinking for themselves.

so they say oh he's more electable. vote for lesser of the 2 evils.
oh i agree with some of his stances, while he flips to every side of the isle so many times not knowing what Romney himself really stands for.

if you need to resort to that then don't even bother
quite sad.

ps. I can also tell grinch romney and santorum. the way they smile and talk is FAKE not genuine.

you can hear it in their speech when you listen.
This must be what tipped me off when obama ran and I ended up not even voting for anyone again.
even though I wanted to vote for someone.

By July, his campaign will gag him and let Ann do all of the talking.

To be honest, I think the unusually low favorability numbers for both Romney and Obama represent a deeper dissatisfaction among voters with both parties candidates and the polorization that has taken place.

and what's he going to say? Something that makes him seem out of touch and rich when taken out of context? It's already been said. There's no new weakness. Everything that can be brought out against Romney has been. And history shows that time heals all political wounds. And in presidential races, not even that much time.
