Democrats had a real shot at winning the 2004 election, but threw it away on a shoddy primary with a shoddy candidate coming against the incumbent.
Republicans could've had this in the bag, but they threw it away by throwing their weight behind clowns, rather than someone who could actually beat Obama.
Who did the Republicans have that could have beaten President Obama?
-Both have "I'm better than you" type personalities.
-Both were politicians in MA.
-Both are Ivy League grads.
-Both sound condescending.
I suppose you could argue Romney earned his wealth, but I could argue that one might be confident as a businessman if they knew their immediate family had millions.
There's also the "French Connection" that they have in common.
