Why would they buy "white", "black" or "brown" children when Chinese children are so much cheaper, better educated and work harder? No one is making any attempt to pay off the national debt. Only Ron Paul would actually try.
That'll happen eventually no matter who gets in power, it's a matter of growing international market demand and the expense of exploiting the types of reserves we have left. The Keystone pipeline is so Canada can sell the stuff to China through Texas ports, not so America will get significantly cheaper oil. The only American benefit is some refining work, and even drilling in Alaska will just profit those employed there and the state of Alaska. It will be a drop in the bucket in terms of global oil supply. America is not being proactive enough in laying down infrastrucuture for a future with 10 dollar a gallon gas, which will come sooner or later no matter what happens. And as an aside, yes we have plenty of other fossil fuels we could liquify, like coal, but if we burn them all we will cook the earth so that would be an absurdly selfish thing to do.
