I don't think it's an embarrassment for Obama as much as it is an embarrassment for American 'democracy'.

As has been pointed out, Obama lost the 2008 Democratic primary AND the general election in West Virginia.

So...

We are shocked!

Of course it does raise the question, since you folks are so concerned about vote fraud and native born, etc, etc, how does a felon incarcerated in the state of Texas get on the ballot in West Virginia for the presidency?
He is on the ballot in a few states and this isn't the first time he has been on the ballot. He paid the 2,500 or whatever the fee is and got on several state ballots. It is kind of dumb that he is able to get on the ballot jist because he had the money. What happened was people just saw someone that wasn't obama and voted for him, I'm sure most of them didn't know who he actually was. Most WV don't like Obama because of his stance on coal mining, as indicated by the counties who voted for him. WV is actually diverse as far as politics the southern portion of the state is conservative, the northern and eastern portions tend to be your blue collar democrats indicated by our governors and senators. Unfortunately there probably is a racial element, a small percentage, but more so with his economic policies. Obama won't win WV so it really doesn't matter, I will still support him.

Well there are twice as many democrats as republicans in WV so your point that he got more votes doesn't mean much.
