So he lead a band of thugs in cutting holding down the kid and cutting his hair with a scissors. Witnesses, and there are several, described it as brutal. It was not only assault, it would have been a hate crime if committed today.

Well to be fair China hasn't really been communist since Deng Xiaoping.
Oh please...Kids did stuff like that all the time back then. A girlfriend of mine had her pony tail snipped off from behind by an angry black girl in high school and she survived just fine. Another biggie were "wedgies," which kids got all the time (nowdays, there would be a sexual harassment charge and suspension no doubt.) Oh, and lets not forget the "t*tty twisters" and bra strap snapping done by the junior high school boys. Guess what? We all survived!

Thats what it was exactly. The fact that the GOP nominee for President has committed a hate crime and never even had to see the Headmaster is no shock to me at all.
I pointed out "race" because you threw out the "hate" crime charge. We didn't have that back then for race or sexual orientation. We all survived.
