Recently, I've noticed that many of the Republicans down here in Texas say "Democrat party" instead of "Democratic Party", just to irk the Dems or for buddha knows what reason. Even the local incumbent Rep congressman Blake Farenthold says "Democrat Party" on his radio ad for re-election. Shouldn't the incumbent be a little more dignified than the rest? Is it some kind of code amongst Repubs, akin to calling Dems the "n word"?
What's the reason for saying "Democrat Party"?

For the exact same reason the democratic party labels the tea party teabaggers
Because saying "Democratic Party" implies that the Democratic Party (big D) is the only party that is democratic (small D.) Also saying "Democrat Party" brings back memories of the time when many cities had Democratic machines; basically saying that it is a party that promotes Democrats (big D.)
It took me years to figure out why they did it, but it makes sense when you think about it. It is hella annoying though, isn't it?
It is when you hear EVERY Repub candidate say it, like they're trying to outdo one another, even the incumbent. Politicians are too partisan these days. Why can't they even refer to each others parties correctly? The tea party ppl are not an "official" party.

Yup, they do it all over the country. It started in the 90s I think.
It wouldn't shock me if a lot of Republicans who use it don't know why/how it started and only use it because they heard other Republicans doing it and think that is the correct term for the party. As they say, "Republicans don't fall in love, they fall in line."
You started it! You called ME a troll. I just returned the compliment, big guy.
