I would believe Wisconsin going for Romney before Michigan doing it. Not saying that it is going to happen, but Wisconsin has the structure in place to potentially bring Romney victory there.

With NC, FL, and IN trending more toward Romney, and these recent polls from WI and last week in OH... the Obama campaign is sweating it big time.

I get a kick out of seeing Michigan and Wisconsin labeled "deep blue." Both states have Republican governors and Michigan has both a Republican house and senate.

Polls are important, just not this far out from the election. I start taking polling seriously when it is about 2 months away from election day.

Well Michigan hasn't voted for a Republican in the Presidential races since 1988 - Wisconsin 1984. It is easier for Republicans to win the state congress, because of the district lines and we have a Republican governor (who was seen as more of an independent by many) because Democrat Jennifer Granholm was a disaster. Michigan has 2 Democratic US Senators, one of which is currently doing robo-calls for Obama with the former car czar, urging people to vote Obama.

Real Clear Politics currently has Michigan as a toss up.

The more interesting variable to keep tabs on, IMO, is the dominant hispanic voting advantage that is sizing up in New Mexico, Nevada, and possibly Colorado.

I have not read many articles yet, or heard any news pieces on NPR, but you are looking at an emerging white vs non-white electorate, and maybe geographical realignment. The southwest will become increasingly Democratic, while the whiter mid-west seems to show signs of trending more conservative.

This is funny. Take time and stroll all the way to the bottom and tell me how much red you see? Obama is doing better in WI than romney is in NC yet none of you seem to think Obama will win NC. Why is that?
