Do you think Obama should play the Christian card?
Just wondering if you all think we'll begin to see Obama play the Christian card?
It seems sort of obvious to me that he should play the Christian card against Romney's Mormon card (for votes in the Southern and Midwestern swing states...). To do so would seem somewhat taboo, but, at the same time, what better way to conservatives in swing states?
What do you think?

I dont think many people vote based upon a candidates religion, and if he falls on the Christian card, it might indicate that he's getting desperate and has nothing else to campaign on.

While I wish that were true, it's not. The "Bible Belt" wasn't named in spontaneity, after all. The questions is, how much will Obama gain from playing the "Christian card?" Given the small number of Mormons, particularly outside the red state of Utah, he has little to lose.

He won't. The conservatives who have the biggest problem with Mormonism are the same people who think Obama is a Muslim.
Furthermore, attacking Mormonism (and, BTW, Mormons ARE Christians) would only open up the door to bringing Obama's relationship with Rev. Wright into the campaign.

I dont fault him for being successful, but if he's going to run around and pretend he's a common folk, and attack rich peple for being wealthy, then maybe he shouldnt spend so much time hob nobbing around with them.. Otherwise he's a hypocrite.

But, neither are Christian in the Bible Belt sense, and Obama is Christian in that sense. This is as opposed to Romney who is on the "outs" of the morality of the South.
I guess I should have asked; Why should Obama not take advantage of the Southern/Midwestern intoleration of outside faiths?

Thing is, he's never done the former. I don't think I got what I voted for, but I'm not so blind in my madness to scream make-believe. Obama has never attacked rich people; suggested we raise taxes on huge wage earners to lower national debt while simultaneously lowering them to all-time lows, yes. Attacking? You're just plain wrong.
Obama is far more centrist than right-wingers give him credit.

You cant be serious..
He's blamed them for not creating more jobs now, the deficits, moving their money off shore, taking advantage of the tax codes, moving jobs overseas, funding campaigns against him by supporting things like the Tea Party and "racism", the housing crisis, the high price of gas, not wanting to give more so he can spend more, and more..
He never stops attacking one segment of society to blame them for his own failures.
