How about NEITHER. They're both scumbags and need to be run off.

I suspect Sweden and the Netherlands are very close then. In the Netherlands we had more than 30-odd parties, many institutions were privatized, and capitalism was present (Shell Oil, and the Queen's coffers), but like you state the programs in place for citizens would be framed as socialism.

In the Netherlands, one can receive as much as 90% of their income on retirement--that alone made me regret leaving.

The party who has been in power for most of the last century (but not currently) is the Social Demorcrats so that would be an indication. However, most people don't try and put the country in a corner like that. There are many aspects of capitalism involved, but at the same time there are many of the programs that people on here like to describe as socialism. However, anybody is free to produce what they like and some of the institutions controlled by the governement in the past have been privatized.

It sounds very similar indeed. I believe there are 8 main parties in Sweden, but anybody can start one and we have a lot of young people in the Parliament. I'm still debating whether or not to return to Europe after I finish my current master's programs - lots of pros and cons compared to the US, but the Netherlands sounds great.

perhaps the republican nominee might choose him for running mate, especially if it is one of the more moderate of the bunch,to shore up the conservative base, I thought maybe thats what he was positioning himself for any way!

Sadly, Newt will NOT run. He just annouced it on Fox.

He is extremely smart, but unfortunatelly Newt is a polarizing figure, just as Hillary is a polarizing figure.

I think he is doing the GOP a huge favor by working in the American Solutions, which is trying to create pro-American solutions witha bi-partisan approach. These would be middle-of-the-road solutions and they would benefit the USA, as long as the radical left and radical right would allow them to move forward.

Check it out: American Solutions for Winning the Future

Could be, Silas777--it appears that the top contenders might look to a good, or excellent second in command. VPs can have a great deal of power as evidenced by VP Cheney.

I'm not suprized you don't know what to say. Whn faced with truth some times it's hard to find the words. Try looking up quotes by people like Clinton, Kennedy, etc. they ALL said Saddam was a threat to this country and something needed to be done about it.
Did Iraq have anything to do with 9/11? No, I don't think so at least not directly but were we supposed to wait untill they attacked us? NOT a good plan.
