Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) may rail against Social Security insolvency in the public eye, but that hasn't stopped him from accepting the government checks.
The libertarian-leaning Republican and former presidential candidate admitted Wednesday that he accepts Social Security checks just minutes after he called for younger generations to wean themselves off the program, in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
I suppose Paul is entitled to it, but it's not like he needs the money. I used to have some respect for this dude, now I think he's nothing more than a hypocritical dirtbag..

I'd want what was taken from me too!
They still take SS out of his pay! More than he gets!! Now isn't that some crap!
He should of disavowed the checks like he disavowed his racist newsletters he supposedly did not write.
Indeed. And if Paul is really a man of principle, as his followers like to suggest, then he wouldn't be accepting money from a program he claims is "unconstitutional"
If he paid in, he has just as much right as anyone to get the checks due him. I agree with him that the money we need to stop spending is the money we are giving to countries that don't like us and charity gifts to countries when their citizens never get the benefit from it.
As for his getting a check, I am sure he has to pay more taxes because of it just as my husband and I do. You really don't have to worry about people who are living according to the law. You should however worry about a president who just decides that he doesn't like our laws and is not going to enforce them. I find that a little scary; no I find that a lot scary.
