What's in Romney's Offshore Accounts? | The Nation

I think the bigger question here is: why does a presidential candidate even have offshore accounts??? The epitome of corporate fascism from the GOP....

Money.

Perfectly legal.

Until you can point out an illegal action, I don't care.

Take note that at about the same time, Obama and the media tried to harp on this. I think its clear they're working together. That being said, there was nothing found to have been illegal. Sorry libs.

Ironic how the libs would support an investigation and disclosure of Romneys accounts, yet think Holder and Obama should maintain their cover up of the Fast/Furious documents.

why does anyone care how much money a potus candidate have? if you are so worried about this, then why not start caring about citizenship, how well they know the constitution, where their true loyalties lie and more?

Thats not fascism, in fact you deciding he shouldnt be allowed to have money overseas would be the definition of fascism. Job well done at criticizing something (i.e. fascism) you support (i.e. you deciding where he should keep his money). The hypocracy couldnt be funnier.

so much fail here. does romney have money in off shore accounts? yes. and so does bill gate, warren buffet, john kerry, etc. there is nothing illegal about it. romney even pays taxes on the money earned outside this country. as for corporate fascism, again more fail on your part, since fascism is a form of government not corporations.

hell, maybe romney has money in offshore accounts because he is getting a better interest rate than the lousy .5%-2% you can get in the USA.

Romney outsources money to tax havens in the same way he outsourced jobs. What a poor excuse for a presidential candidate or even an American for that matter!

Quote:
Offshore Tax Havens
Companies form corporations, banks and trust providers in foreign countries called "tax havens," where taxpayers can hold their money and assets to avoid paying U.S. federal income tax on them. These entities are designed to make it difficult to trace ownership -- and therefore tax liability -- of the assets. Popular tax havens include Panama, Belize, the Cayman Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, the British Virgin Islands, and the Isle of Man
HowStuffWorks "Tax Shelter Abuse"

Bain operates 138 secretive offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands, which take advantage of tax breaks used only by the richest Americans.

If Obama didn't have so many secrets they'd be doing the same to him.
