It is the Romney's choice. They have to balance their desire to win the election, the consequences of not releasing the returns with what they might say if they were released and their desire for financial privacy.

It is a high risk strategy because the Dems will suggest that they have much to hide and a lot of people might just believe them.

1. That's one more year than Romney will be releasing. (1 1/2, by some estimates.)

2. McCain, as a member of Congress, had filed financial disclosure forms and other information throughout his many years of running for or serving in Congress. Same as Kerry. Same as Ryan. Same as Biden, etc. Romney has no such records.

Question: Did Romney ask Ryan for his college transcripts?

Who cares? now people who wont vote for Romney, think they can ask what standards Romney needs to set to determine who his VP candidate will be?

Yep, we're back to tax returns. The 48-hour window of destroying Ryan failed.

Then why do you keep bringing up McCain?

Aaaand then he went w/ Sarah Palin as his VP choice.

Seriously... think about that. He chose Palin over Romney.

The arrogance of this woman and the Romney campaign is unbelievable. Romney promised two years of tax returns and now expects our vote with one partial return? But hey, they aren't hiding anything, are they?
What happened to releasing their 2011 returns when they are ready, as Romney promised? Hmm...must have found something there that didn't look too good.

I love how Mitt doesn't even have the courage to release this news himself. Will he hide behind Ann's skirts every time there is bad news to be delivered?

I think this is GREAT news for the Dems. The more they don't release the returns, the more Obama will make it an issue to the middle class that Romney is hiding much including his "ZERO" tax rate he paid for his millions with his convenient off shore bank accounts. Doesn't get any more "UNAMERICAN" than that folks! Thanks Anne. Yes, I have the utmost respect for rich people who want to run for the Presidency and think it's beneath them to do the right thing and release more returns. Talk about out of touch people. Geeze.

And why do you keep insisting that college transcripts are the same as tax returns?
