Russia to Romney: How could we be your No. 1 enemy? - CSMonitor.com

....the reaction from many Russians today, where Mr. Romney's "enemy No. 1" jab at Moscow has been played over and over by official media, amid mounting public outrage, since he uttered it.....

"The Obama message to Moscow has been a reset policy, that somehow everything is warm and fuzzy between us and Moscow, and what we've seen over the last several years is that Moscow didn't get the message," Romney said on Monday in an interview with Fox News that was aired on Tuesday.
"The president's reset policy has been an abject failure."

Romney's remarks were the second time in recent days that his camp attacked Obama while he was dealing with foreign leaders, a tactic that used to be regarded as off limits, as criticizing the president could undermine U.S. interests abroad.

Someone tell me again why we need to be tougher with Russia? Why does Romney want to start the Cold War again?

Do you have any idea how profitable the cold war was for the defense industry?
It was like they won the lottery.
Reagan gets credit for "defeating" the Soviets, but he didn't defeat them, he just out spent them.
The defense industry worships Reagan as a frick'in saint.

PS: Romney would love for everyone to think of him when ever Reagan is mentioned.

Romney doesn't know the Cold War ever ended. And apparently no one told him there is no longer a Soviet Union and that Czechoslovakia hasn't existed since 1993, either. It's kind of scary how out of touch he is.

They make far more money now with no real state level enemy and a persistent low-level war environment.

So 2 former cold war government officials that have endorsed Romney and helped advise him misspoke with geography. You do realize that Obama himself, has been wrong with geography on a few occasions.

So, because they misspoke by using the names that they had used during their career you can throw out all of their points? Aren't you being kind of like the guy who points out a small typo in someones post and then throws out their entire argument over the typo?

I wonder what Mittelmarch Romneyston VII thinks about our current dealings with Yugoslavia and Transjordan? Do you guys think he's up to speed on the ongoing crisis in the Ottoman Empire? How will he handle the inevitable unification of the German principalities?

my late uncle was CIA and one thing he warned us about after the fall of the berlin wall and the break up of the soviet union was that it was window dressing. the soviets were going through tough economic times and could afford the empire they built. and that they would be back in the future, he just didnt know when. well the old hardliners are starting to take power again in russia, and things are going to be changing slowly back to what it was before the fall of the soviet union. they may not get back all the territory they lost, but they will gain back a lot of it.
