I dont associate the movie with the attack, I associate an INDIVIDUAL, who did a shooting at a movie.. Do you really live in that much fear that when you got to a movie theater, the first thing that comes to mind is you think about a madman, running around shooting people? Or is it only theaters that displayed the Dark Knight? I can see people saying that about the particular theater, but the OP isnt discussing the theater, is he?

In time, The Dark Knight Rises may lose some of its association with this tragedy, but certainly not within the first 36 hours, when it is all over every news outlet on television, radio and the Internet. There's no way the OP didn't realize this. To suggest otherwise is simply disingenuous.
