I would say that a 20 point lead among that group of primarily old men could be insurmountable. After listening to Romney's speech to the VFW Convention today I am sure that he said everything they wanted to hear and quite well, at that. I didn't hear any of Obama's speech to the same group yesterday but surely they weren't lacking in respect for him.

Romney?s lead among veterans a ?Big deal?

I'm sure that Romney has a lead among veterans. And no, since a veteran's vote only counts as much as any other citizens, it's not that big of a deal.

Depends how concentrated they are in the 12 states (give or take) that will decide the election.

That makes you two a rare breed for sure. You two have earned the right to do as you please even if I disagree with your choice.

America appreciates your family's service to our great nation.

Between now and the election a number of veterans will no doubt change their minds when they start paying attention and learn about Romney's chickenhawk behavior, past and present. As a veteran myslef, I find hypocritical rich boys who now talk tough about military action after carefully avoiding service themselves to be ill-suited for an office that may require some critical decision-making.

Being a former Navy Vet, I thought the navy was more liberal than the other services, I also served Air Guard and the Air force is extremely conservative and has a very evangelistic christan element to it. By this I mean in the dining facility people prayed and ate in church groups..

One of the reasons the Navy was very democratic was the amount of 2nd and 3rd generation vets whose fathers served and then worked as union civilian contractors and ship builders..
