I would say that a 20 point lead among that group of primarily old men could be insurmountable. After listening to Romney's speech to the VFW Convention today I am sure that he said everything they wanted to hear and quite well, at that. I didn't hear any of Obama's speech to the same group yesterday but surely they weren't lacking in respect for him.

Between now and the election a number of veterans will no doubt change their minds when they start paying attention and learn about Romney's chickenhawk behavior, past and present. Being a former Navy Vet, I thought the navy was more liberal than the other services, I also served Air Guard and the Air force is extremely conservative and has a very evangelistic christan element to it. By this I mean in the dining facility people prayed and ate in church groups..
One of the reasons the Navy was very democratic was the amount of 2nd and 3rd generation vets whose fathers served and then worked as union civilian contractors and ship builders..
