Mitt Romney Accused of Buying Twitter Followers | Trending Now - Yahoo! News

Romney wasn't feeling the love as few people had bothered to follow him on twitter (which isn't surprising given he never does anything other than ask people for money or repeat press releases) so last weekend the Romney campaign started paying companies to make fake twitter addresses and then have them follow Romney's twitter account. Can you say sad and pathetic?

If he has the money, why not. Some rich guys have to pay beautiful women to date or even marry them.

What a strange rationalization. Paying women to date or marry you is also pathetic.

This fits Willard's MO of being ultra lame and ultra slimy.

If true it is funny and sad at the same time.

Accused does not mean it's true. Come back when you can prove it. Roll eyes.

How is this different from paying for advertising on other media like TV and radio?

Did you pay any attention to what was said in the video? A couple speculations and you state them as fact. Yes, I can say your statement is sad and pathetic.

I saw this all over Twitter on friday, I went through some of Romney's followers and a lot of the newer ones were very suspicious. A lot of them had only 1 tweet and very few friends. Their tweets had bad grammar and spelling. That reeks of spammers and fake accounts. And it's sad that he happened to gain a large amount of fake followers on friday when we were all distracted trying to keep on top of the Batman shooting developments. But it doesn't matter because most of these "people" are probably from Indonesia and China and can't really vote for him...

Do we have some proof that this is in fact what is taking place or just some wild speculation on the Internet by anonymous posters?

Seems a little light on facts and heavy on wishful thinking.

Something else to talk about besides Obama's miserable record of consistent failure.

Reminds me of the "Sarah Palin didn't know Africa was a continent" crap.

Only after 75% of the public is convinced it's true does the truth come out that the whole story is a hoax.
