Star of Romney ‘My Hands Didn’t Build This’ Ad Received Millions in Government Loans and Contracts - ABC News

Not at all surprising that this guy's "bootstraps" were subsidized by the good old USA taxpayers.

More accurately: He EXPANDED a business he initially built on his own with some tax credits.

The fact that he got a government contract for his services after that is meaningless......

The government doesn't make or build anything....it ALWAYS contracts with a private company to do the actual work.

When he was starting out, he also got a half million dollar loan from the Small Business admin with matching funds from a state program. He had access to finance that he most likely couldn't get at all from a bank, or at least couldn't get it for the same terms, because of the tax dollars we pool to create those federal programs.

This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy about the Romney campaign, and why I've had concerns about him from the beginning. How hard would it have been for the campaign to do its due diligence when they made the ad, and pick an irate business person who hasn't benefited from the infusion of huge amounts of cash from federally funded programs? We're not talking just government contracts--we're talking SBA loans, etc. They make really stupid mistakes.

My understanding is that the Obama campaign is coming out with an ad now that lays out what Romney said against the Obama remarks, shows that Romney cut and pasted the President's remarks, and paints Romney as a liar and a sleeze. That's going to hurt, especially because Romney already has a reputation for playing loose with the truth--it's going to stick to him where the liar line didn't stick to the Obama campaign. In the past some D campaigns have rolled over and played dead when it comes to negative campaigning, and I think that's what the Romney campaign was counting on from the D's this year. It's not going to happen. The D's are going to play hardball, and it's going to get really ugly. The Romney camp needs to tighten up its ship or they're going to be dead in the water.

Lightbulb lol...

Romney benefited from large cash infusions from the Federal Government in his business dealings on more than one occasion so I doubt he'd see a conflict in the vetting report if it were there.

Just another case of OBoy totally smearing and trying to destroy an ordinary citizen (tax payer) asking a perfectly reasonable question. Transparency? Hardly. Nothing but hateful rhetoric and smearing innocent people.

OBoy is a national disgrace.

If you approve of such actions, that really doesn't speak well of you.

I thought 'bullying' was the left's new cause. Seems they thrive on it.

LOL. You do that. Juxtaposed against Romney's own words in his Olympics speech, and against the new ad the Obama campaign is putting together showing exactly how duplicitous Romney was in the way he cut and pasted and distorted Obama's actual words, I think the Democrats will welcome keeping this front and center. If you think this makes your candidate look good, please, double down!

Romney distorting what he said? Oh no! Obama and gang never do that to Romney. They never distort what people say. WHo would think in politics people would do that(even though it's not a distortion, just a rare honest moment from Obama). To use a term from Debbie Wasserman Schultz,Obama needs to man up.
