If this is just a "spin", then perhaps you can explain to the rest of us, what exactly it is about Obama that makes him uniquely unable to appreciate said anglo-saxon "relationship"...?

OMG, he returned a bust of Churchill that was on loan from England to George W. Bush!! And he replaced it with a bust of Abraham Lincoln!! Heavens, that's so shocking and horrible and anti-British--to have a bust of an American president in the White House--that it has Edward clutching his pearls and reaching for his smelling salts. (I know, it really does sound stupid when you look at the real facts, and not a manufactured talking point, doesn't it?)

Yeah Right. Romney doesn't give a crap about White People. He cares about money and lining his pockets. That's it.

The Vice President's response: “The comments reported this morning are a disturbing start to a trip designed to demonstrate Governor Romney’s readiness to represent the United States on the world’s stage,” Biden said in a statement. “Not surprisingly, this is just another feeble attempt by the Romney campaign to score political points at the expense of this critical partnership. This assertion is beneath a presidential campaign.”

What ever happened to not criticizing America while you're on foreign soil? Yes, between these comments and misstating the Australian PM's comment for political gain, Romney is showing us exactly what kind of statesman he is.

Oh, yeah, and you can rest easy now, EdwardA, Romney promised that if he is elected, he will take down the bust of Abraham Lincoln and replace it with Churchill. Because having the bust of a British PM in the White House is oh so much more American than having one of an American president.

Sure Anglo-Saxon culture which this country was founded on is different than the other dominate and historically adversial culture of Western Europe that of the French. Anglos historically (before the modern welfare state) empasized competition. The belief was that through hard work and trade society would benefit. Hence the British empire of course things didn't run smoothly but I'd argue it was better than anything else at the time and was a net benefit to humanity.

French culture, in particular after the revolution, was more geared to the collective, the community, liberty, equality etc. All well and good. I'd argue Obama subscribes more to do this line of thinking than than the traditonal Anglo model. Nothing inherently wrong with that just a differing opinion.

To notice it or call Obama on it is not racist. Anglo Saxon is not an inherently racist word, it's a culture or name of one of the main Germanic tribes of Britain.

Nope. Just stating the facts. He grew up partially in Indonesia and was raised by radicals. What can you really expect?

Biden spoke out against Bush on foreign soil numerous times. So did Obama.

First of all its a racist comment and has the adviser forgotten Obama's mother was white? or does he believe in the "one drop" rule. You know if you have any black blood in you, you are black. Most African-Americans today have white ancestors due to slave masters raping black slaves.

"an adviser to the campaign made comments suggesting the Republican presidential candidate's commitment to rebuilding the so-called "special relationship" between England and the United States has to do with a sense of "Anglo-Saxon heritage."

"We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he [Romney] feels that the special relationship is special," "The White House didn't fully appreciate the shared history we have."

the adviser suggested that Mr. Obama could not understand the depth of the relationship between the two countries because he cannot fully appreciate the shared "Anglo-Saxon heritage."

Romney camp denies "Anglo-Saxon heritage" comment - Political Hotsheet - CBS News
Puh-LEASE! Get over the racist crap. How is that comment racist?
It is not even as racist as congress having a "Black Caucus" because all the Maxine Waters race baiting types say America doesn't understand black issues.

If Maxine Waters can say white Americans do not understand Black America, then a Romney aid can say Obama doesn't understand Anglo Saxon heritage.

As for an additional thought, I think Obama DOES understand Anglo Saxon heritage and I think he dislikes it. Otherwise, please explain why the Winston Churchill bust was immediately returned to the UK when Obama moved into the White House?
