I do support Romney, the poll skews to the Dems at any rate Romney has work to do.

Also the respondents seem to contradict themselves, they rate the economy the number 1 issue, the say the economy is bad, they say Romney would be better on the economy but then select Obama. Huh?

This is why Obama loses. The economy is the most important issue to Americans and they will vote into office that candidate they feel can handle the economy the best. That candidate is not Obama.

Obama is Jimmy Carter II and we know that Carter did not get a second term for the same reasons.

The rightwingers on this board rejoice over the 1 or 2 polls that shows Romney in a tie or with a slim lead over Obama. When they see polls that show Obama leading, they dismiss it? Haha

Romney has given no reason why he would be better for the economy than, "I was a businessman, so I must know about economics." The people see through that fallacy. When one examines Romney's policy positions they are no different than GOP policy positions that we've heard all along -- lower taxes for the rich; cut programs and deregulate.

Neither is Romney. What EXACTLY does this man, or the GOP have to offer that will in any way:

Cut the Deficit
Shrink the Debt
Create Jobs
End the war in Afghanistan

Seriously?

If anyone in Washington were the least bit interested in cutting the deficit, they would:

1. Let ALL the Bush era tax cut expire--middle class and wealthy.

2. Cut the defense budget - it makes up 57% of the overall spending.

3. Raise the retirement age to 70.

4. STOP giving social security to immigrants who have just arrived. Sorry, if you don't have a sponsor, you can't get a green card. That goes for everybody.

5. STOP paying disability out of social security. Clean up the system, make it harder for slackers to claim disability for things like ADD.

6. If you want to cut taxes, then PAY FOR IT, no more unfunded tax cuts.

7. END the war in Afghanistan, period.

8. CLOSE the loopholes that make it easy for corporations to outsource jobs to other countries.

9. Cut the mandate from the healthcare law. You don't want to have heath insurance, fine, just be prepared to pay your own way.

10. REQUIRE Welfare recipients to get job training. No more sitting on your ass. Offer low cost day care for the kids, get these people working, and paying back into the system.

If you want to add to the list, great. The problem is, most TALK a good game when it comes to "cutting the deficit" but it's a clear case of NIMBY, cut everything else, but not when it affects me.
