"A group of conservative black pastors are responding to President Barack Obama’s support of same-sex marriage with what they say will be a national campaign aimed at rallying black Americans to rethink their overwhelming support of the President...at the press conference, Owens was joined by five other black regional pastors and said there were 3,742 African-American pastors on board for the anti-Obama campaign."

Black pastors group launches anti-Obama campaign around gay marriage – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs

"Support for gay marriage is part of the Democratic Party’s preliminary platform for the fall, Representative Barney Frank’s office confirmed to the Globe Monday. The language will be considered by the full Democratic platform committee, which meets in Detroit between Aug. 10 and 12. If approved, an endorsement of gay marriage will be put to vote at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte in September."

Democrats’ preliminary platform includes support for gay marriage - Political Intelligence - A national political and campaign blog from The Boston Globe - Boston.com

Will the non-love by the black pastor group rub off on the other Democrats who are also running for office?

Note: To be clear, this is not a thread on whether you are for or against gay marriage but your prediction on how this stance by this group of former Obama supporters will play out on Election Day with Obama and other Democrats running for office in 2012 if the issue gets on the Democrat platform at the Democrat National Convention.

I don't know how many people 3,742 African-American pastors represent.

Even so, Obama will be the next president. I do think he will destroy the good old boy DNC as we know it and many will be heading to higher grounds after the election. Pitty the dems who do not support him now.

Right-

The dems are running away from Obama now, as they realize he is toxic. Obama has been a disaster for the economy and the leadership of the democratic party can't wait to get rid of him. Witness how Bill Clinton has to bite his tongue whenever he is asked about Bo. Why will Clinton speak at the convention? So Bo and his far left wingers will not blame him when he loses.

Bo loses big. Why? The economy. Obama will drag down several senators and congressmen along with him who supported Obamacare. They will be tarred with the same brush. The republicans will capture the white house and senate, as well as expanding control in Congress.

Obama's ineptitude is one of the best things to happen to the republican party in decades.
